why a View occasionally appears twice in the root of the MVFS drive on Windows

When using IBM® Rational® ClearCase® on Microsoft® Windows®, the view appears twice in the root of the MVFS drive, once as view_name and once as view_name@@.

The @@ views are an artifact of certain MVFS operations such as

· Merges

· A describe of an element version not selected by the view

· Showing the properties of an unselected element version in the Version Tree Browser

Note: The operations are not limited to the above list.

The viewname@@ entry appears in the MVFS drive after these operations and disappears after about 5 minutes.

These entries are completely harmless; however, be aware that you should not perform work within this context, and do not attempt to remove them manually.
