RATIONAL WEB PLATFORM (SERVER) REQUIREMENTS FOR CCRC:

Patch Requirements:

Note: The latest patches for ClearCase on Linux/UNIX for RWP, User Space, MVFS and MultiSite may be found in

Configuring RWP:

Directions for Configuring the Rational Web Platform can be found in the Appendix section of the ClearCase Administrator's Guide.

REQUIREMENTS AND SETUP INSTRUCTIONS FOR CCRC CLIENT:

Operating System Requirements:

Windows and Linux clients can install the CCRC client. Use your web browser to point to the URL http://hostname/ccrc/update (where hostname is the name of your RWP server) and read the requirements as outlined on the page. Watch the
demos below for full interactive instructions.

JRE Requirements:

  • Java™ JRE 1.4.1 or 1.4.2

Note: Review
technote 1181478 for more information about Java Runtime Environments (JRE) and ClearCase.

Setup Instructions:

Steps for setting up a client with CCRC can also be viewed using the following viewlet demos from
developerWorks:

Note: These demos were setup using CCRC 2003.06.00 but apply to 7.0 as well.

CCRC Error Log:

· Go to Help > About Rational ClearCase Remote Client > Configuration Details

or

· From the System Summary dialog click View Error Log

or

· Collect the .log file from within the workspace

SPECIAL USE CASE CONSIDERATIONS:

Firewall Considerations:

CCRC uses the http/https protocol for its server/client communication; therefore, any firewall or other port blocking software must be configured in your environment accordingly.

Windows vs. non-Windows based RWP server implications:

If your developers rely on the CLEARCASE_PRIMARY_GROUP variable, review technote 1231082 to see how the location of the CCRC (RWP) Web server can impact the use of this feature with CCRC.

Limited support of interactive triggers:

CCRC has limited support for interactive triggers. For guidelines on writing CCRC triggers review technote 1207634.
